We are delighted to have the Suzy Lamplugh Trust as our chosen charity for the
Safety & Health Excellence Awards 2019.
The Suzy Lamplugh Trust was set up following the
tragic disappearance of estate agent Suzy Lamplugh,
who went missing in July 1986 while showing a client
round a house in Fulham, south-west London. Suzy’s
body has never been found, but she has been
presumed murdered and was legally declared dead in
1993. Diana and Paul Lamplugh founded the Suzy
Lamplugh Trust in 1986. At the time, very little research
had been done into personal safety and the term was
rarely used. Paul and Diana became the foremost
experts on the subject, and Diana travelled throughout
the UK raising awareness.
The Trust's mission is to reduce the risk of violence
and aggression through campaigning, education and
support. Its vision is a society in which people are safer
– and feel safer – from violence and aggression, and in
which they are able to live life to the full. To this end, it
offers advice, training, consultancy and information.
The Trust also helps people stay safe from violence
and aggression by providing free safety tips,
managing the National Stalking Helpline and
delivering community projects.
You will find envelopes on your tables: please place
your donation in them and our staff will collect the
envelopes from your table after dessert has been
served. Please do give generously to this great cause.
